First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether classical massage can reduce pain and improve daily function in people with myofascial pain syndrome, a condition that causes muscle knots and radiating pain. Sixty adults aged 30–50 with active trigger points in the upper back took part. Researchers compared massage alone to massage combined with standard physiotherapy, measuring pain intensity, muscle tenderness, and quality of life.
