New diabetes drug shows promise in early trial

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether a new drug, maridebart cafraglutide, can help people with type 2 diabetes use insulin better. About 70 adults with diabetes who are already taking metformin will receive either the new drug or a placebo. The main goal is to see if the drug improves how the body responds to insulin after 25 weeks.
