Half-Dose malaria vaccine could double protection for millions

NCT ID NCT07194668

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 38 times

Summary

This study tests whether a half-dose of the R21/Matrix-M malaria vaccine is as effective as the full dose in 375 adults and adolescents aged 14 to 60. Participants will receive either the standard dose or a half-dose, and researchers will measure their immune response and safety. If successful, this could allow more people to be vaccinated with the same amount of vaccine, helping to prevent malaria more widely.
