New vaccines aim to block malaria transmission in africa

NCT ID NCT06549257

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests two experimental vaccines designed to stop the malaria parasite from spreading from person to person. The vaccines target the parasite's development inside mosquitoes, so vaccinated people who get bitten are less likely to pass the infection on. The trial involves 56 healthy volunteers aged 5 to 45 in Burkina Faso, and will check for safety and immune responses.
