Mass drug trial aims to stamp out malaria in Thailand's hotspots
NCT ID NCT05052502
First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving malaria drugs to people at high risk—like those living in villages or working in forests—could lower malaria rates in their communities. Over 14,000 people in five Thai provinces took part. Researchers compared areas that received this targeted drug approach to areas that did not, measuring how many new malaria cases appeared over time.
