Scientists infect volunteers to test new malaria pill
NCT ID NCT05979207
Summary
This early-stage study tested a new oral drug, MMV367, for malaria. Researchers deliberately infected 12 healthy adult volunteers with malaria parasites to see how the drug is processed by the body and how well it kills the parasites. The main goal was to understand the relationship between the drug dose, its level in the blood, and its effect on the infection.
