Could a simple mineral improve lung cancer treatment?
NCT ID NCT07149649
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jul 17, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding magnesium to standard chemo-immunotherapy helps people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. About 230 participants will receive either magnesium or a placebo, as both tablets and infusions. Neither patients nor doctors know who gets what. The goal is to see if magnesium improves survival and is well tolerated.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- magnesium (as Magnesiocard tablets and Magnesium Diasporal IV)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could show that adding magnesium helps standard treatment work better and longer for advanced lung cancer.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-to-mid stage trial with only 230 participants. Magnesium may not improve outcomes, and results may not apply to all patients.
