First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests if a procedure called immediate lymphatic reconstruction, done during breast cancer surgery, can prevent lymphedema (arm swelling). About 180 women with breast cancer will be randomly assigned to receive either standard lymph node removal alone or lymph node removal plus the reconstruction. The goal is to see if the extra procedure reduces the number of women who develop lymphedema.
