Surgeons test precise lymph node removal for stomach cancer
NCT ID NCT07183150
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study aims to find the best range for removing No.4sb lymph nodes during surgery for advanced stomach cancer. Researchers will track 400 patients to see how often cancer spreads to different parts of these lymph nodes. The goal is to help surgeons remove only the necessary nodes, improving recovery and reducing complications.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help surgeons know exactly which lymph nodes to remove during gastric cancer surgery, potentially reducing recurrence and side effects.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage observational study, not a treatment trial. Results may not apply to all patients, and the findings are about surgical technique, not a new drug or cure.
