NCT ID NCT07230652
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This Phase 1 trial tests the safety and tolerability of a new extended-release tablet called LY03020 in 40 Chinese adults, including healthy volunteers and people with stable schizophrenia. The drug is also being explored for psychosis related to Alzheimer's disease. Participants receive either the drug or a placebo, and researchers monitor side effects and how the drug moves through the body. This is an early-stage study, so it focuses on safety rather than effectiveness.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
LY03020 (extended-release tablet)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a new oral medication option for managing schizophrenia and Alzheimer's-related psychosis.
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1 trial with only 40 participants, focused on safety and dosing. It is not designed to prove the drug works, and many early-stage drugs fail to show benefit in later trials.
