New hope for Pre-Cancer blood disorder? drug trial aims to boost cell counts

NCT ID NCT06788691

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called luspatercept can safely improve low blood cell counts in people with Clonal Cytopenia of Undetermined Significance (CCUS). CCUS is a condition where people have persistently low blood counts and genetic changes that put them at risk for developing more serious blood cancers. About 50 adults will receive luspatercept as an injection every three weeks to see if it raises their red blood cell, white blood cell, or platelet levels, improves their energy, and delays disease progression.
