New stent aims to seal Post-Surgery leaks better than current methods

NCT ID NCT06862479

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a new device called the Luso-Cor esophageal stent works better than current methods (other stents or vacuum therapy) for closing leaks that can happen after weight-loss or cancer surgery on the stomach or esophagus. About 180 adults who develop such a leak will be enrolled. The main goals are to see how often the leak closes and how safe the treatment is.
