First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests a new device called the Luso-Cor esophageal stent for closing leaks (fistulas) that can happen after weight-loss surgery or cancer surgery on the stomach or esophagus. About 180 adults who develop such leaks will be randomly assigned to get either the new stent, a standard covered metal stent, or endoscopic vacuum therapy. The goal is to see which method closes the leak most safely and effectively.
