Summary
This study examined medical records of over 21,000 adults with type 2 diabetes and COPD to see if those taking SGLT2 inhibitors had fewer lung cancer cases than those taking sulfonylureas. Participants did not need to do anything new—researchers simply compared existing health data. The goal was to find out if one diabetes medicine might also help prevent lung cancer.
