New drug combo tested as last hope for tough lung cancers

NCT ID NCT01737502

Summary

This study tested a combination of two oral drugs, auranofin and sirolimus, for patients with advanced or returning lung cancer who had run out of standard treatment options. The main goals were to find the safest dose and see if the treatment could slow the cancer's growth. The trial involved 29 patients and was designed to measure how long patients lived without their cancer getting worse.
