New drug combo tested for Tough-to-Treat lung cancers
NCT ID NCT01737502
Summary
This early-stage trial tested a combination of two existing drugs, auranofin and sirolimus, for patients with advanced or returning lung cancer who had no other standard treatments left. The main goals were to find the safest dose and see if the drugs could slow the cancer's growth. The study involved 29 patients with specific types of lung cancer who had already tried chemotherapy.
