Blood tests may predict lung cancer return after surgery
NCT ID NCT07476495
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is tracking 100 people with early-stage lung cancer who had surgery. Researchers will measure tumor cells and DNA in their blood to see if these markers can predict if the cancer comes back. The goal is to better understand how lung cancer spreads and improve long-term care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors predict which lung cancer patients are at higher risk of recurrence, leading to more personalized follow-up and treatment.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It may not directly improve outcomes, and the findings might not apply to all lung cancer types or stages.
