Glowing dye could prevent hidden surgical injuries
NCT ID NCT07080008
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This early study tests a dye called Lumitrace that makes the ureters (tubes from kidney to bladder) glow blue during minimally invasive abdominal surgery. About 10 adults having laparoscopic surgery will get one dose of the dye. Surgeons will compare how well they can see the ureters with and without the dye. The goal is to see if this method is safe and helps prevent accidental ureter injury.
