First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether playing music, with or without a parent's voice, can lower stress and help brain development in very premature babies. About 243 infants born between 24 and 30 weeks will be randomly assigned to hear music, music plus parent voice, or standard care. Researchers will measure stress levels, brain scans at full-term age, and language skills at age 2.
