MS patients may soon get voice therapy from home
NCT ID NCT05930379
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This pilot study tested whether a voice therapy program called LSVT-Loud, usually done in a clinic, can be delivered effectively via video calls for people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Twenty participants with MS who had voice problems received the therapy either at home or in the clinic. The goal was to see if the at-home approach is feasible and can improve voice loudness during everyday speaking. The study is small and focused on feasibility, so results are preliminary.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
LSVT-Loud voice therapy
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a convenient at-home voice therapy option for people with MS who have trouble speaking loudly or clearly.
What could go wrong
This is a very small pilot study (20 people) testing feasibility, not effectiveness. Results may not apply to all MS patients, and telerehab may not work as well as in-person therapy.
