First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests a device called Efferon LPS that filters blood to remove harmful substances during flare-ups of Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. About 40 adults with moderate to severe flares will either get standard treatment alone or standard treatment plus the blood-filtering sessions. The goal is to see if the device can safely reduce symptoms and inflammation, but it is not a cure and ongoing management will still be needed.
