Patch before surgery may cut painkiller use after lung operations

NCT ID NCT07591220

First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether placing a loxoprofen sodium patch on the skin before video-assisted lung surgery can reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers afterward. About 156 adults aged 18 to 64 having lung surgery will be randomly assigned to get the patch or a placebo. The main goal is to see if the patch lowers the amount of rescue pain medication needed in the first 48 hours after surgery.
