First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This early study tests whether low-intensity focused ultrasound can safely reduce hand tremors in 12 people with Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, or dystonic tremor who haven't responded well to medication. Participants receive a single session of brain stimulation, and researchers monitor side effects and measure changes in tremor severity using simple drawing tasks. The goal is to see if this non-invasive approach is safe and offers temporary relief.
