First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a low FODMAP diet can reduce stomach symptoms and improve nutrition in people with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). 51 adults who had finished antibiotic treatment were split into two groups: one followed the low FODMAP diet, the other ate normally. Researchers tracked symptoms, diet, body measurements, and blood tests to see if the diet made a difference.
