Could a tiny dose of radiation beat lymphoma with fewer side effects?
NCT ID NCT07029217
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study compares standard radiation (24 Gy) to a much lower dose (4 Gy) for people with follicular or marginal zone lymphoma. The goal is to see if the lower dose works just as well but causes fewer side effects. About 375 participants will be enrolled, and the study is currently recruiting.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- radiation therapy
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a gentler radiation option for indolent B-cell lymphomas, reducing side effects while maintaining cancer control.
- What could go wrong
- This is a phase III trial, but the lower dose may not control the cancer as effectively as standard treatment. Long-term outcomes are still being studied.
