Summary
This study tests whether a gel containing lovastatin, placed under the gum after deep cleaning, can improve gum health more than cleaning alone. It includes 44 adults with gum disease, both smokers and non-smokers. Each person gets the medicated gel on one tooth and a placebo gel on another, and results are tracked for six months.
