Gut bacteria clues may unlock long COVID mysteries

NCT ID NCT06825819

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study aims to understand how changes in gut bacteria (dysbiosis) affect the immune system and gut health in people with long COVID. Researchers will collect stool and blood samples from 400 adults—half with long COVID symptoms and half without. The goal is to find links between specific gut bacteria and ongoing symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, and stomach issues, which could lead to new treatments.
