Heat vs. radiation: new trial tests best way to zap liver tumors
NCT ID NCT03654131
Summary
This study compares two different non-surgical treatments for colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver. It tests whether targeted radiation therapy or a heat-based ablation technique works better to control tumor growth. The trial involves 100 patients with 1-3 small liver tumors who cannot have surgery. The main goal is to see which treatment keeps the treated tumors from growing back longer.
