New scan could reduce risky liver biopsies
NCT ID NCT00243633
Summary
This study tested whether adding a contrast agent to ultrasound scans helps doctors better identify liver abnormalities. Researchers compared this enhanced ultrasound method against standard scans in 878 people with liver lesions. The goal was to see if this approach could provide clearer diagnoses while being safer and more cost-effective than biopsies or other imaging tests.
