Liver fluid study halted before results

NCT ID NCT04216784

Summary

This study aimed to compare two approaches for removing excess fluid in patients with advanced liver cirrhosis (scarring). Researchers wanted to see if adding a protein called albumin to a standard water pill (furosemide) worked better than the water pill alone. The trial was stopped early due to funding issues for the albumin, and no patient data was ever collected or analyzed.
