VA launches major trial to find best liver cancer screening method

Summary
This study aims to find the best screening method to detect liver cancer early in people with cirrhosis. Researchers will compare standard ultrasound with a faster MRI scan, both done every six months, to see which finds cancer sooner. The goal is to catch cancer at earlier stages when treatments are more likely to be curative, ultimately reducing deaths from liver cancer.
