Blood test could speed up lung cancer treatment decisions
NCT ID NCT07649629
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a blood test called liquid biopsy can quickly find genetic changes in people with advanced lung cancer. About 70 adults will give a blood sample, and researchers will compare the results to standard tissue biopsies. The goal is to see if this approach is faster and reliable enough to use in the future.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that a simple blood test can speed up genetic testing for lung cancer, helping doctors choose treatments faster.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage observational study. The liquid biopsy is for research only and won't guide treatment yet. It may not match tissue biopsy results or be fast enough to change practice.
