First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested a new way to deliver the drug everolimus directly to the lungs using tiny particles called liposomes. The goal was to treat chronic lung rejection (bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome) after a lung transplant. Researchers used human lung tissue and cells in the lab to see if this inhaled approach could reduce side effects and target the diseased cells more effectively.
