NCT ID NCT05606068

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a special cooling and compression sleeve (Paxman Limb Cryocompression System) worn during chemotherapy to prevent nerve damage, a common side effect. About 200 cancer patients receiving weekly paclitaxel will use the device for up to 4 hours per session. Researchers will check for side effects and measure changes in nerve symptoms using questionnaires.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ€” not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Paxman Limb Cryocompression System (a cooling and compression sleeve)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could give cancer patients a way to prevent painful nerve damage from chemotherapy, improving their quality of life during and after treatment.
What could go wrong
This is an early expansion study with no control group, so results may not prove effectiveness. The device may cause discomfort or fail to prevent neuropathy in all patients.
