First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving the numbing drug lidocaine during lung cancer surgery can lower the chance of the cancer returning or spreading. About 1,400 adults having minimally invasive lung cancer surgery will receive either lidocaine or a placebo through an IV. Researchers will track their health for 3 years to see if lidocaine improves how long they stay cancer-free.
