First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a 10-session LGBTQ-affirmative cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) delivered via telehealth to sexual minority women who drink heavily and have anxiety or depression. Researchers will compare it to standard LGBTQ-affirmative therapy to see if it better reduces heavy drinking days and mental health symptoms. The trial is recruiting 274 participants in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide an effective, tailored therapy to reduce heavy drinking and improve mental health in sexual minority women.
What could go wrong
