Could a simple Vitamin-Like injection cut anemia drug doses for dialysis patients?
NCT ID NCT07160452
First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding levocarnitine (a substance often low in dialysis patients) to standard care can reduce the amount of anemia medication needed. About 94 adults on long-term dialysis will receive either levocarnitine injections after each session or usual care alone for 6 months. The goal is to see if levocarnitine helps maintain healthy red blood cells with lower drug doses, potentially easing treatment burden and side effects.
