First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a smartphone app and a tablet dashboard for community health workers to support people with both tuberculosis (TB) and HIV in South Africa. The app helps patients stay on track with their medications, while the dashboard alerts health workers if someone needs extra help. The goal is to improve treatment success and reduce deaths. About 62 adults with active TB and HIV are taking part.

What this could lead to

If successful, this approach could improve treatment success rates for people with both TB and HIV in low-resource settings.
