Laser zaps scalp to spark hair growth – but study stalls
NCT ID NCT03382184
First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested whether a laser treatment called fractional photothermolysis (a type of skin resurfacing) could help regrow hair on the scalp in people with alopecia. Only 5 people enrolled before the study was stopped early. Each person had half their scalp treated with a laser and the other half left alone for comparison. The goal was to see if the laser could stimulate hair follicles and improve hair density.
