Summary
This study tested whether a single dose of an antibody called L9LS can safely prevent malaria in women of childbearing age in Mali. 279 healthy women and men received either the antibody or a placebo and were monitored for 24 weeks. The goal was to see if the antibody could block blood-stage infection by the malaria parasite.
