First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This phase 2 trial tests a new drug combination, L19IL2/L19TNF, injected directly into skin tumors. It is for people with advanced basal cell carcinoma that has worsened despite or cannot tolerate standard treatments. The study will enroll 92 participants and track how many respond to the therapy over up to 160 weeks.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

L19IL2/L19TNF (a combination of two immune-boosting proteins injected directly into tumors)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a new treatment option for people with advanced basal cell skin cancer who have run out of other options.

What could go wrong

This is an early phase 2 trial with only 92 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatment is injected directly into tumors, which may not be possible for all patients, and side effects are still being studied.
