Scientists test simple pill and workout combo to fight Age-Related decline
NCT ID NCT07466290
Summary
This study is testing whether taking an amino acid supplement called L-serine, either by itself or combined with strength training, can help improve mental sharpness, brain function, and physical fitness in healthy older adults. Researchers will enroll 126 men and women aged 65 to 85 and randomly assign them to receive a placebo, L-serine alone, or L-serine plus a supervised strength training program. Over 48 weeks, participants will undergo memory tests, brain scans, and physical fitness assessments to see if this combined approach supports healthy aging.
