First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving L-Citrulline syrup for 28 days can reduce serious complications (like death, organ failure, or readmission) in children aged 1 month to 5 years who are hospitalized with fever and identified as high-risk by a rapid blood test. About 888 children in Mozambique and Ethiopia will receive either the syrup or a placebo. The goal is to improve survival and long-term health in vulnerable children.
