Scientists test better way to ease agony after knee surgery

NCT ID NCT07180953

Summary

This study is testing which way of giving a common steroid medicine works better to control pain and swelling after a total knee replacement. Patients aged 65-100 will be randomly assigned to receive the medicine either directly into a nerve-numbing block or through an IV. Researchers will measure how long pain relief lasts, how much extra pain medicine is needed, and levels of inflammation after the surgery.
