Brain scans and walking tests aim to unlock mystery of knee pain

NCT ID NCT07308873

Summary

This study aims to understand why people with similar knee arthritis damage experience very different levels of pain, especially when walking. Researchers will recruit 300 adults with chronic knee pain to complete surveys, walking tests, knee scans, and non-invasive brain imaging. The goal is to identify the mix of physical, psychological, and brain-related factors that contribute to pain, which could help find new ways to improve physical activity for people with knee osteoarthritis.
