Early dialysis may save hearts and kidneys in ECMO patients

Summary

This study compares starting kidney dialysis early versus at the usual time for people in severe heart shock who are on a heart-lung machine (ECMO) and have kidney injury. The goal is to see if early dialysis reduces death or the need for long-term dialysis. About 408 adults will take part.
