Scientists search for clues to prevent sudden kidney failure

NCT ID NCT03720860

Summary

This study aims to understand why some critically ill patients develop sudden kidney damage, especially after severe infections or major surgery. Researchers will measure inflammation markers in blood, urine, and sputum from 100 ICU patients with sepsis, recent surgery, or chemical poisoning. The goal is to identify early warning signs that could help predict and potentially prevent kidney injury.
