Scientists hunt for early warning signs of kidney damage in cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06549634

Summary

This study aimed to find better ways to spot early kidney injury in people newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma who are starting a specific treatment called daratumumab. Researchers collected blood and urine samples from 20 patients to measure certain proteins that might signal kidney problems before standard tests can. The goal was to see if these new markers could help doctors detect and potentially prevent kidney damage earlier.
