Kidney injury prediction tool for child heart surgeries never tested
NCT ID NCT03608956
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study planned to see if two monitoring tools—an ultrasound probe in the esophagus and a skin sensor that measures oxygen levels—could help doctors predict kidney injury early in children having heart surgery. The goal was to find a faster way to spot kidney problems during the operation. However, the study was withdrawn before any children were enrolled, so no results are available.
