Sip your way sharper? ketone drink tested against sleep loss
NCT ID NCT05519644
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a ketone ester supplement can help people think clearly and perform physical tasks after four nights of reduced sleep. Researchers will give the drink to 60 military participants and measure their cognitive skills, reaction time, and marksmanship. The goal is to see if raising blood ketones can offset some of the negative effects of sleep deprivation.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple drink that helps people stay sharp and accurate during short-term sleep loss.
